The electric energy meter is an instrument for measuring electric energy, and the electric energy meter will be used wherever electricity is needed. There are many types of electric energy meters, and the most common one is a single phase energy meter .
A single-phase energy meter uses electronic circuits and chips to measure electrical energy. A voltage divider or a voltage transformer is used to turn the voltage signal into a small signal that can be used for electronic measurement. A shunt or current transformer is used to turn the current signal into a small signal that can be used for electronic measurement. Electronically measured small signals, using a dedicated energy measurement chip to perform analog or digital multiplication of the converted voltage and current signals, accumulate the electrical energy and output a pulse signal whose frequency is proportional to the electrical energy. The pulse signal drives the stepping motor to drive the mechanical counter to display or send it to the computer for processing and digital display.
The working principle of the mechanical kWh meter is the same, the main purpose is to count accurately.
